How online classes work
Texas allows court-ordered education classes online only when they're taught live. Here's what that means for you, from booking to your certificate.
Before you book
Check your court order or probation terms for the class you need. Then make sure you have a device with a working camera, a microphone and a steady internet connection. At checkout you'll confirm you have all three.
Paying
One price covers the whole course. You can pay with Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna, Affirm or a debit or credit card. Klarna and Affirm let you split the cost into smaller payments.
Before your first session
Texas requires every student to complete registration before the course begins. After you pay, we'll send you the registration form. Your personal Zoom link arrives as soon as it's done.
During class
- Your instructor teaches live on Zoom. Nothing is pre-recorded.
- At the start of each session the instructor takes attendance and checks your camera and microphone.
- Your camera stays on the whole time, except during breaks. Students who turn their camera off are removed, as Texas rules require.
- You'll take a short test at the start and end of the course.
After class
Texas completion certificates are printed on numbered state forms and can't be sent by email. We mail yours within 5 days of finishing. Read about refunds and rescheduling.
